Post- traumatic Orbit

Orbital floor contouring

The commonest is the blow out fracture. It can vary in extent of the floor involvement with or with out entrapment of the muscle (s). The indication of surgical intervention is mis-alignment of globes because of sagging of the globe down in the maxillary sinus, diplopia, and anynthing threatening vision. Management vary from wait and watch to release of entrapment to use the rib graft to orbital floor implantation. If done properly and in time results are gratifying.

Other walls repair

In compound injuries other walls may also get fractured and need to be repaired. Fixation is done with microplates and screws.

Miscellaneous

Lacerations and haematomas are managed accordingly. Bony losses are managed by bone grafting to maintain orbital contour. Eye brow losses are reconstructed from scalp.
